Born in Idaho just outside of Boise, I started drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil. My earlier subjects were horses in my family's pasture. My love for animals and the great outdoors took me to Oregon State University where I studied zoology and was active in the outdoor adventure program. I graduated in 2016 with honors. Following graduation, I backpacked the vast majority of the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. I have done cool seasonal jobs like making waffles at the top of the Tetons and salmon fishing in Alaska.
I was the 2018 Morley Nelson Birds of Prey National Conservation Area Artist in Residence.
Stylistically, my art can be described as realistic with a hint of whimsy (and lots of dots.) I usually work with pen, pen and watercolor, or graphite.
In October of 2019, I was in an accident that partially paralyzed me from the waist down. With the help of an amazing community and loving family, I relearned to walk. Although I am not able to do a lot of the same activities I could before my accident, I am still able to get outdoors via adaptive sports like Nordic skiing and handcycling.
